Gross Domestic Product is a perfect measure of welfare. Do you agree/disagree with the statement?

Welfare is a term that used to refer to a situation where people in a country can meet their basic needs well and adequately. There are so many standards that must be taken into account to be able to say that a country meets welfare standards or not, and GDP is not a perfect measure to determine this.

GDP only represents the average income of people living in a country. To be able to say that the people of a country achieve welfare, it is necessary to calculate in terms of health care, technology, happiness of the people, and many other aspects. GDP cannot reflect this. Countries with high GDP may have very high income inequality, so that more than 70% of its people still live under poverty and do not get welfare, which is a real example in the status quo.

GDP is not a perfect measure to determine whether a country achieves welfare or not because GDP is not an objective standard that describes the condition of a country as a whole. To be able to measure the welfare standards of a country, more than one standard measurement is needed.
